Kris + Elena (and Hero too!) – 5/19/12 – Pasadena, Southern California Engagement and Family Photographer

I’M SO EXCITED TO BE BACK TO WORK!

Ok, so now that I’m properly expressed my joy at being back with all of you again after having my baby (you can see some photos of him here or on my personal blog), let me just say that I’ve got a ton of new stuff up my sleeve, that I can’t wait to show off to all of you!

But now on to the good stuff…  You may recognize the little cutie in the photos below from her Christmas themed session this last December.  Well now you get to meet her mommy and daddy!  Like I said before, Elena and I are childhood friends, so I was so excited to hear that she was getting married!  It makes me happy to see that she’s found someone that cares about her and loves her as much as Kris does.  I can’t wait for the wedding in just a few short weeks!

Caleb + Lili {Workshop Review and Photos} – 4/14/12 – Victorville Newborn Photographer

Those of you that couldn’t make it out to the Newborn Photography Workshop this last weekend really missed out!  A few people canceled at the last minute, but the few ladies that were able to make it and I had a ton of fun!  We spent the morning going over camera basics and how to shoot in manual, had a quick lunch, and then spent the rest of the afternoon shooting out two beautiful models… well, 3 models if you count Lili’s mamma.  =)

My own handsome little boy was our first model.  Caleb was 11 days old the day of the workshop, and was such a good sleeper.  You know, until he peed all over everything and woke himself up.  Lol.  But thats the way of newborn sessions right?  The teddy bear hat and pod set is from Funky Baby Hats, and the other hat is from Tiff’s Creations.

Isn’t my Caleb just a cutie?  Well little Lili was just as cute!  And she has so much hair!!  Lili was about 2.5 weeks old the day of the workshop, so she wasn’t into the whole sleeping thing so much.  But that was the point that I wanted to get across to everyone at the workshop.  The older a newborn gets, the harder it is to get them to sleep soundly.  Even a day or two can make a huge difference!  So for all of you clients out there having babies or who have recently had babies, the best time to book a newborn session is for when you baby is no older than 14 days, preferably less than 10 days.  But enough about that, lets get back to Miss Lili.

Because Lili didn’t want to sleep, we went with a more lifestyle approach with her.  Doesn’t she look just like her mama?

Not all baby photos have to be all sleepy or smiley…  the crying ones can be pretty sweet too.  =)

Where I’ve been lately, and where I am now.

Some of you might be noticing that I haven’t been doing much business lately, but I promise you that I have a good reason!  On April 3rd I welcomed a beautiful (and big!) baby boy into the world.  So between labor, staying at the hospital, and visiting with family, and showing off the baby, you can imagine that I’ve had a pretty hectic week!  I’m booking sessions again though, so you should start seeing some new photos soon (on that note, if you’ve been waiting to book your session until after I got back to work, now is the time!).  If you want to read more about the baby, feel free to check out my personal blog.

To kick off my returning to work, I’m hosting a newborn photography workshop this weekend in Victorville for new moms and aspiring photographers.  If you’re interested in attending, head over and check out the info here.  I’m also still looking for a baby girl to model, so if you or someone you know has a newborn baby girl and would like some free photos, feel free to contact me.

I would also like to take this chance to remind you of all the cool ways you can keep up with me.

And the winner is……

And the winner of the free workshop enrollment contest is…..

Danielle Delaney!  If for some reason Danielle is unable to claim her prizes, another name will be drawn.  Congrats Danielle!
